Global Vision project
| What is RMGVP? The Re-Membering Me: Global Vision Project is a mission I started in the winter of 2004-05 while studying opticionry. Thanks to my fellow students, the faculty, and those who gave generously of their time and/or money I was able to perform eye exams for both adults and children in the Dominican Republic. And now, thanks to ongoing support, the mission lives on.. It remains a humble project and with all hope it always will. Why Should I Support This Project? This answer is two-fold. First, many times we give to charities and are happy with knowing it is going to a good cause. However, once the check goes to the mailbox we lose the connection to exactly where it is going and who it may have helped. Supporting a local project allows us to stay more connected. Second, having volunteered my time in several venues and now with this project I have come to know the sense of joy and elation that comes with this work. Coming home from the trips I noticed a sense of incompletion. What I've come to know is the importance of bringing this energy full circle. When I share this joy with those who have supported the mission it completes this cycle of energy allowing all three parties (the donors, the recipients, and me) to know the true joy of the mission. As each mission builds upon the last, yes there is trial and error, I've made a commitment to making sure this connection takes place. So, when you give to the mission you will be placed in a database for that mission and will be notified of the gathering to celebrate what we've accomplished "together." Current Projects I am currently accepting donations to aid in a mission to perform eye exams and give glasses to the children of the Hope Children's Fund in Meru, Africa.
